An emotionally shattered young woman…

…takes a trip from New York CIty to her aunt’s house on Bainbridge Island and begins a journey back in time that will ultimately help her to heal in the present. This books evokes the unique setting of the Seattle islands and the connections to the 1940s, when the protagonist’s aunt grew up. The violets of the title are supposed to signal healing and hope, central themes in this book, to which all readers can relate.
